Flavors and history in the alleys of Vaglio

Il Percorso di Vaglio is the great gastronomic, historical, and cultural event that enlivens the historic center of Vaglio Basilicata, in the Province of Potenza, every summer. The initiative combines tastings of traditional Lucanian cuisine, artistic exhibitions, live music, and entertainment, transforming the alleys of the medieval village into a multi-stop journey through stands and cellars.

A village with a thousand-year history

The setting is a village that holds a rare heritage: a short walk away are the Archaeological Park of Serra di Vaglio, a Lucanian settlement inhabited since the 8th century BC, and the Lucanian sanctuary of Rossano, dedicated to the Italic goddess Mefitis. Walking the Trail also means breathing in this historical depth, amidst stone, traditions, and identity.

The soul of the Pro Loco

Organized by the Pro Loco of Vaglio, the event has reached numerous editions over the years (the XIV in 2022) and has become a classic of the Lucanian summer. The typical products of the area, illustrated in the official brochure, accompany an evening of celebration that attracts visitors from all over Basilicata.

When to go

The Trail traditionally takes place on the first weekend of August: three evenings when the village lights up with lights, scents, and music, ideal for discovering Vaglio in the heart of summer.
