A sporting tradition in Montefiascone spanning over forty years

The artistic gymnastics showcase of the A.S.D. Centro Polisportivo Libertas Montefiascone is one of the most anticipated events in the sports calendar of this town overlooking Lake Bolsena, in the upper Tuscia region of Viterbo. It is not a competition and there are no rankings: it is a celebration with which the club concludes the season, showcasing the work done in the gym throughout the year to the community. With its 41st edition in 2026, the event has become a small collective ritual involving entire families from the Municipality of Montefiascone and neighboring towns in the province of Viterbo.

What to expect on the floor

The stars are the young athletes of Libertas, from the youngest in the introductory courses to the gymnasts in the competitive groups. The evening alternates between group choreography, floor exercises, and tests of high technical coordination, all set to a thematic thread that changes every year. The result is a fast-paced show designed to be enjoyed even by those unfamiliar with the rules of artistic gymnastics: music, costumes, and lighting accompany every set of performances.

The 2026 theme: «The Night of the Oscars»

For the 41st edition, Libertas chose to pay homage to great cinema. The sports hall floor was transformed into a true Hollywood stage, with a red-carpet atmosphere and choreography inspired by the imagery of awards nights. This formula allowed the sport to be linked to a more theatrical and narrative dimension, highly appreciated by the families who fill the stands every year.

The organizing club

The Centro Polisportivo Libertas Montefiascone is affiliated with the Italian Gymnastics Federation and offers a wide range of activities throughout the year: women's and men's artistic gymnastics, gymnastics for all, rhythmic gymnastics, TeamGym, trampoline, acrobatics, and motor development courses. President Giorgio Maria Dainelli noted that "the end-of-year showcase is not just a showcase of our gymnasts' technical progress, but a true celebration of sport, growth, and togetherness." The event is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Montefiascone.

Montefiascone, between lake and wine

Attending the showcase is also a great opportunity to discover Montefiascone, a village in northern Lazio known for its Rocca dei Papi, the Basilica of San Flaviano, and above all for the Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone wine, one of the historic white wines of Tuscia. From the highest point of the town, the view embraces the entire Lake Bolsena, the largest volcanic lake in Europe. Those arriving from outside the province can easily combine the evening at the sports hall with a walk through the historic center and a food and wine stop.

An event open to everyone

The showcase takes place in the evening and admission is free until all available seats are taken: it is therefore advisable to arrive early, as attendance is traditionally high. It is an event particularly suitable for children and families, and for many gymnasts, it represents the most exciting moment of the entire sporting year.
