The great festival of Romagnol folk dance and music, from Cesenatico to the entire Riviera
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
La Notte del Liscio is one of the most beloved events of the Romagnol summer: a large, widespread festival, promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region with APT Servizi and Destinazione Romagna, which transforms squares, beaches, and promenades into open-air dance floors. Cesenatico, a lively seaside town in the Province of Forlì-Cesena, has always been among the main locations, with the heart of the festival in Piazza Andrea Costa, a stone's throw from the Leonardesque canal port.
Liscio is not just a musical genre: it is an identity heritage that tells the story of Romagna's dance halls, families, and village festivals. Waltz, polka, and mazurka set the rhythm for the evenings, while traditional orchestras engage with new generations of musicians and pop artists who reinterpret the great classics. The event is deeply linked to the legacy of Secondo Casadei, author of the famous "Romagna mia", and his nephew Raoul, a symbol of liscio music worldwide.
In Cesenatico, La Notte del Liscio brings concerts, group dances, and performances where tradition meets contemporaneity. The evenings often involve local dance schools, children from local schools, and the most representative orchestras of the Riviera, in a popular festive atmosphere that attracts residents and tourists.
The strength of the event lies in its choral nature: in addition to Cesenatico, La Notte del Liscio enlivens dozens of locations between the Riviera and the hinterland, from Rimini to Ravenna, from Gatteo Mare to Cervia, up to Cesena and the hill towns. For visitors, it is the perfect opportunity to discover the most authentic identity of Emilia-Romagna, amidst live music, local gastronomy, and the unmistakable atmosphere of the Adriatic coast in summer.
The 2026 edition of La Notte del Liscio in Cesenatico continues the tradition of the great widespread festival promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region, which annually celebrates waltz, polka, and mazurka in the squares and on the beaches of Romagna.
