Four days of Italian oenology, street food, and live music in the heart of Testaccio
In the Testaccio district, one of the most authentic and popular neighborhoods in Rome, the Testaccio Wine Festival returns for four days entirely dedicated to Italian wine culture. The event takes place in the spacious grounds of the Città dell'Altra Economia, in Largo Dino Frisullo, just a stone's throw from the former slaughterhouse and Monte dei Cocci, in a setting that weaves together Roman tradition and contemporary experimentation.
The heart of the event is the oenological selection: more than one hundred labels from all twenty Italian regions, with a journey that pairs renowned large wineries with small independent producers. Visitors can taste dozens of wine varieties by the glass at affordable prices, guided through a tour of the peninsula's vineyards and territories, from North to South, featuring structured reds, crisp whites, and sparkling wines.
Accompanying the wine is a rich selection of gourmet street food: fragrant porchetta, crispy fried snacks from the Roman tradition, freshly prepared burgers, and pasta dishes that celebrate Roman cuisine. A marriage of wine and food designed to satisfy every palate in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Every evening is brought to life by live music and DJ sets. The program ranges from Roman folk songs by the Trio Monti to indie sounds, 90s revivals, and tributes to the great names of Italian music, with a large screen to follow the Giallorossi matches. There are also spaces dedicated to the little ones, with painting workshops and free creative activities that make the festival suitable for families as well.
The Testaccio Wine Festival is one of the most vibrant food and wine initiatives of the Roman spring. Organized with free admission in the Municipality of Rome, Lazio, it highlights Italy's viticultural heritage and the neighborhood's popular tradition, offering locals and visitors an authentic opportunity to discover quality wine in a festive and informal setting.
The second edition of the Testaccio Wine Festival took place from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, in the spaces of the Città dell'Altra Economia, on Largo Dino Frisullo. Four days dedicated to Italian wine, with over one hundred labels available for tasting from all regions of the peninsula.
Alongside the wine, the event offered traditional Roman street food and a rich evening musical program, from Roman folk songs to 90s revivals, with DJ sets and family areas.
Throughout the duration: over 100 labels from 20 regions, street food (porchetta, burgers, pasta, and Roman fried snacks), and painting workshops for children.
