The Terra – May Fair is one of the most cherished events for the community of Misterbianco, a town in the Metropolitan City of Catania, Sicily. After being absent for about a decade, this historic spring fair has returned to fill the streets of the town center, restoring an appointment that defined its commercial and artisanal identity for generations. Misterbianco has always been one of the most vibrant craft and trade hubs in the Catania metropolitan area, and the May Fair was created precisely to celebrate this vocation.
The comeback edition was held under the title "Earth! Oil, bread, and tradition," a tribute to the simplicity and richness of the territory. The event focuses on the products of the Sicilian land: olive oil, traditional bread, authentic and genuine peasant flavors, ancient trades, and local craftsmanship. Three days dedicated to rediscovering the roots of the city and its territory, in a journey that weaves together taste, culture, and memory.
The heart of the fair beats along Via Gramsci and in Piazza Mazzini, in the center of Misterbianco, while the Civic Art Gallery hosts conferences, cooking shows, and exhibitions dedicated to local heritage. The streets transform into a large open-air market with stalls selling typical products, craft displays, and tastings.
Promoted by the Municipality of Misterbianco, the May Fair is more than just a market: it is a moment of collective celebration where the community gathers around what unites, defines, and nourishes it. Through music, words, and flavors, the event gives citizens and visitors back an important piece of their history, in a typical Sicilian setting at the foot of Mount Etna.
At the moment, the Municipality of Misterbianco has not yet released the official dates and program for the 2026 edition of Terra – May Fair. The event traditionally takes place in May in the town center, between Via Gramsci and Piazza Mazzini. To find out the dates, times, and final program, we recommend checking the official channels of the Municipality and the Misterbianco Eventi portal.
