54 hours to turn an idea into a business project, in the heart of Rome
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Techstars Startup Weekend Rome brings one of the world's most popular innovation formats to the Capital, replicated in over 150 countries. The idea is simple yet ambitious: to give anyone with an intuition the chance to turn it into a concrete business project over the course of a single weekend. You don't need to arrive with a ready-made idea or specific technical skills: all you need is curiosity, a desire to get involved, and a collaborative spirit.
Everything starts on Friday evening, when participants take the stage for a short 60-second pitch to propose their ideas. The most popular ones form the work teams, which spend the entire weekend developing the project under the guidance of mentors and industry experts. Saturday is dedicated to validating the idea, market analysis, and building a first prototype; Sunday is spent working on the final presentation, delivered before a jury of entrepreneurs and investors. The best projects are awarded prizes.
The event is held in Rome, in the Lazio region, at Palazzo Borgia, in the heart of the Monti district, just a stone's throw from Piazza San Pietro in Vincoli and the basilica housing Michelangelo's Moses. The venue is the Roman headquarters of Save the Children, a long-standing partner of the initiative: a setting that combines the city's entrepreneurial buzz with a strong focus on social impact.
The community that gathers in Rome is young, international, and highly diverse: it is precisely this variety of skills that makes it possible to build something real in such a short time.
The Roman leg is organized by Seedble, beeco, and Elis Innovation Hub, in collaboration with Save the Children and with the support of numerous partners from the business and innovation world. The format is part of the global Techstars Startup Weekend network, which has involved hundreds of thousands of participants worldwide since 2007.
Startup Weekend is not just a competition: it is an intensive learning experience where you learn by doing. In just one weekend, you can expand your network, receive qualified feedback from expert mentors, and put your idea to the test in a stimulating and collaborative environment. For many, it has been the first step toward launching a real business.
Techstars Startup Weekend Rome once again offers the intensive 54-hour journey that has made the format famous worldwide. At the Palazzo Borgia venue in the Monti district of Rome, aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals from various disciplines meet to give shape to new business ideas, from the first pitch on Friday evening to the final presentation on Sunday.
As per tradition, the weekend alternates between training moments, individual mentorship sessions, and teamwork, with the goal of arriving on Sunday with a validated project to present to the jury. It is recommended to check dates, times, and registration procedures on the organization's official channels.
Palazzo Borgia is located in the Monti district, in Rome. The nearest metro stop is Cavour (Line B), just a few minutes' walk away; the Colosseo stop (Line B) and Termini station are also convenient for those arriving by train.
Participation is via online registration on the official event website. The ticket grants access to all workshops, mentorship sessions, meals, and materials for the entire weekend.
You don't need to have a starting idea or know how to code: bring energy, a laptop, and a willingness to collaborate.
