Zero-impact cinema under the stars, on the edge of the Val di Non woods
Every summer, the Castel Belasi manor, perched on a hill at an altitude of approximately 465 meters in the Lover area of Campodenno (Val di Non), transforms into an open-air cinema. The screening is part of SuperPark, the summer initiative by the Adamello Brenta Nature Park Authority, created in collaboration with Superflùo, which brings the big screen into the woods and castles of western Trentino.
The hallmark of SuperPark is its zero-impact cinema, managed by the Cinèma du desert association: a van equipped with solar panels travels to various locations within the Park, turning meadows, clearings, and castle courtyards into open-air cinemas. The screenings are powered entirely by solar energy, and the audience sits on the grass, immersed in the silence of the mountains. In case of bad weather, screenings are moved indoors to spaces adjacent to the castle.
The festival is not limited to Castel Belasi: throughout the summer, SuperPark offers eleven films under the stars in as many locations across the Park—from the Ancient Glassworks of Carisolo to Lake Andalo, from the Comano Thermal Park to Forte Larino in Lardaro—along with seven auteur excursions led by Park rangers in the company of special guests (photographers, directors, journalists, and researchers). The goal is to combine culture, slow tourism, and environmental protection, bringing the public closer to the mountains through cinema and hiking.
The evening at Castel Belasi is the perfect opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating castles in the Val di Non, now also home to contemporary art exhibitions, and to experience the Adamello Brenta Nature Park in a unique way. Admission is free with reservation, subject to availability: an event designed for families, cinema enthusiasts, and nature lovers in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The 2026 stop of SuperPark at Castel Belasi (Campodenno) took place on Friday, July 3, 2026, starting at 9:15 PM. The zero-impact big screen featured "Straordinarie", a 2025 Italian documentary (80 minutes) directed by Giorgia Lazzarini, which tells the story of six women who chose an extraordinary life path as high-altitude mountain hut keepers.
The Campodenno evening was one of the eleven screenings in the 2026 SuperPark calendar, spread between late June and early July across various Park locations: among others, "Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light" in Carisolo (June 24), "Le città di Pianura" at the Comano Thermal Baths (June 27), "La Cima" in San Lorenzo in Banale (July 4), and "Wilding" in Dimaro (July 5). The cinema program was accompanied by seven auteur excursions with guests such as photographers Simone Cargnoni and Alessandro Cristofoletti, journalist Valeria Barbi, and researcher Giorgio Vacchiano.
Admission to the screening was free with reservation; the audience watched the film while sitting on the grass, in the setting of the castle overlooking the Val di Non.
