About Superenduro Sauze d'Oulx

Sauze d'Oulx, a renowned resort in the Upper Susa Valley in the Province of Turin, once again hosts one of the most beloved races of the national Superenduro MTB circuit. After years of absence, enduro returns to the mountains where it all began in 2008: a weekend of sport, adrenaline, and celebration amidst larch forests, high-altitude meadows, and postcard-perfect views. Organized by Red Bike ASD, the event attracts hundreds of athletes from across Italy and abroad, featuring technical, fast special stages and points valid for international rankings. An unmissable event for MTB and e-bike enthusiasts in Piedmont.

Enduro returns to where it all began

The mountains of Sauze d'Oulx, a renowned tourist destination in the Upper Susa Valley in the Province of Turin, are back at the center of the national mountain bike calendar with a stage of the Superenduro MTB circuit. For this part of Piedmont, it is a highly significant comeback: it was in Sauze d'Oulx that Italian enduro first took its steps starting in 2008, writing history with the first editions of the Eurocup and the Enduro of Nations.

After several years of hiatus, the circuit returns to one of its historic cradles, featuring renewed trails that take advantage of the larch forests, technical paths, and high-altitude meadows that made this mountain famous. The organization is entrusted to Red Bike ASD, which meticulously manages the course marking, logistics, and safety for the entire race weekend.

The course and special stages

The track covers approximately 32 kilometers with a total elevation gain of about 1,570 meters, consisting of timed special stages interspersed with long high-altitude transfers. The trails wind through forests, ridges, and single tracks that test riding skills, endurance, and terrain reading, offering high-mountain scenery overlooking the Susa Valley.

  • Karamel, a fast and fun opening stage;
  • Rocce Nere, a technical and demanding section;
  • Rock Master with the Fly to Bali extension, the most spectacular and selective stage.

Youth categories follow a reduced program: the 'Esordienti' (Beginners) race only on the third special stage, while the 'Allievi' (Cadets) tackle a course of about 19 km with 900 meters of elevation gain. A dedicated power-stage is reserved for e-MTBs, in accordance with the circuit regulations.

Two days of racing and celebration

The format spans the entire weekend. Friday marks the setup of the paddock area, with an optional track walk along the routes. Saturday is dedicated to license checks and official practice sessions, followed by the e-MTB power-stage and the technical meeting. The official race takes place on Sunday, with the first rider starting in the morning and the awards ceremony at the end of the day. The competition is surrounded by a paddock, camper area, food stalls, and social gatherings that make Sauze d'Oulx a true celebration of enduro.

Sauze d'Oulx, the mountain bike capital

At over 1,500 meters above sea level, Sauze d'Oulx has been one of the iconic international enduro locations for decades. The Superenduro stage is also an opportunity to discover the Upper Susa Valley, its hospitality, and its landscapes: an exceptional showcase for the sport, capable of attracting athletes, professional teams, and spectators from all over Italy and abroad, thanks in part to the points valid for international rankings.
