About Suoni Antichi Riscoperti

Suoni Antichi Riscoperti is an organ and early music festival celebrating the historic organs and sacred spaces of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg and Val di Cembra in Trentino. In San Michele all'Adige, two events bring the METS - Trentino Ethnographic Museum and the Church of San Michele Arcangelo to life, featuring free concerts followed by tastings of local products presented by the producers themselves.

A journey through historic organs and local flavors

Suoni Antichi Riscoperti is a festival dedicated to the preservation of the organ heritage and historic sites of the Piana Rotaliana Königsberg and Val di Cembra in Trentino-Alto Adige. Promoted by the Consorzio Turistico Piana Rotaliana Königsberg ETS and conceived by Simone Vebber, the event brings grand sacred and chamber music into the churches and cultural venues of a region rich in antique instruments, offering a multi-sensory experience that blends art, history, and local gastronomy.

Events in San Michele all'Adige

In the municipality of San Michele all'Adige, the festival features two evenings hosted in the town's iconic landmarks. The first takes place at the METS - Museo Etnografico Trentino San Michele, within the Augustinian complex, where the star is a rare fortepiano from the museum's collection: an ancestor of the modern piano, made entirely of wood, with a delicate and distinctive timbre. The second evening is held in the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, featuring chamber ensembles in dialogue with the church's pipe organ.

Music and tastings

A hallmark of the festival is its focus on local flavors and artisanal production: at the end of each concert, the audience is invited to tastings of typical products presented directly by local producers, ranging from cured meats to Rotaliana wines. It is a way to combine the listening of early music with the discovery of Trentino's flavors, strengthening the bond between cultural heritage and the local community.

A festival spread across the territory

Beyond San Michele all'Adige, the concerts reach numerous municipalities in the Rotaliana Königsberg and Val di Cembra areas, including Faedo, Giovo, Nave San Rocco, Lavis, Salorno, Mezzocorona, and Mezzolombardo. Admission to all events is free, reflecting the festival's commitment to cultural outreach, with a concert calendar running from late December through May.

Suoni Antichi Riscoperti — edition 2026

The third edition of Suoni Antichi Riscoperti (December 2025 - May 2026, 10 events) brings two free concerts to San Michele all'Adige under the artistic direction of Elena Di Marino. At the METS, the fortepiano takes center stage in a Mozartian journey through the Alps; at the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the Trio Andrea Palladio performs Baroque and Romantic music. Free admission with final tastings.
