Summer in Cassaro: the summer calendar of the Iblean village

Summer in Cassaro, also known as RESTATEACASSARO, is the series of cultural and recreational events promoted by the Municipality of Cassaro, a small town in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. Located in the Iblean Mountains at an altitude of over 450 metres, Cassaro is one of the island's smallest villages, and in summer, it rediscovers its squares as a natural stage, taking advantage of the cool climate of the high-hill evenings.

A multidisciplinary programme

The festival spreads its events between July and August, primarily enlivening the central Piazza Matrice. The programme alternates between different genres and styles, aiming to offer entertainment for all age groups. Recurring features include:

• Dialect theatre, with local companies performing comedies in the Sicilian language;
• Brass band concerts, an integral part of the musical tradition of the Iblean towns;
• Cover bands and pop music evenings dedicated to the great names of Italian music;
• Conferences, workshops, and cultural insights;
• Tastings of local products from the area.
