About StrittulArt

Every summer, StrittulArt transforms the historic center of Gagliano del Capo, in the heart of Capo di Leuca, into an open-air stage. Along the characteristic 'strittule'—the narrow alleys of this Salento village—a nightly itinerary unfolds, featuring wandering serenades, food and wine tastings, and traditional folk music. Two evenings of pizzica, tradition, and authentic flavors that bring the province of Lecce to life, drawing residents and visitors into the town's evocative nocturnal atmosphere.

A journey through the 'strittule' of Salento

StrittulArt is the cultural and gastronomic festival that brings the historic center of Gagliano del Capo to life every summer. Located in the Province of Lecce at the southern tip of Salento, just a few kilometers from Santa Maria di Leuca, the town provides a stunning backdrop. The name comes from the local dialect: 'strittule' are the narrow alleys and tight passages of the old village, which for two nights transform into a sprawling itinerary of music, art, and taste.

Roaming serenades and folk music

The heart of the festival is the roaming evening route: groups of musicians and singers traverse courtyards, small squares, and alleys, performing serenades and traditional Salento songs. Pizzica and folk music provide the soundtrack to a leisurely stroll, punctuated by food and wine stops set up along the way. The nocturnal atmosphere of the historic center, with its stone houses and ancient portals, offers visitors a glimpse of an authentic Salento, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.

Tastings and authentic flavors

Alongside the music, StrittulArt offers food and wine tastings featuring selections of local wines and samples of typical regional products. The route is designed as a true 'tour of taste' through the town's streets, aimed at showcasing the specialties of Salento cuisine and the culinary excellence of the Capo di Leuca area.

A Gagliano tradition

Included in the summer calendar of the Municipality of Gagliano del Capo and promoted as part of the village's revitalization initiatives, the event has earned the patronage of the Apulia Region over the years. StrittulArt has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the Salento summer, successfully blending live performance, folk traditions, and the promotion of the historic center into a unique nocturnal itinerary.

2026 Edition

The dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced. Following the custom of recent years, the event is expected to return to the 'strittule' of Gagliano del Capo in August. Information will be updated as soon as the Municipality and organizers release the final calendar.
