Storie e Delizie: Aquino between memory and flavor
Storie e Delizie is an archaeological and food-and-wine fair that brings the historic center of Aquino to life—a village in the Ciociaria region of Frosinone, in the heart of southern Lazio. The event combines the story of the city's thousand-year history with local agricultural products, spread across the squares, alleys, churches, and archaeological sites of the town of Aquino.
Tracing the Via Latina
The common thread is the Via Latina, the ancient Roman consular road along which Aquino flourished as an important municipium, home to the poet Juvenal and, centuries later, the philosopher and theologian Saint Thomas Aquinas. Conferences and debates on local history and the archaeological-agricultural fair project accompany visitors, while guided archaeological walks lead to the discovery of the area's heritage.
Historical re-enactments
The historic center becomes an open-air stage: from a Roman banquet featuring dishes inspired by ancient Rome to a medieval military camp set up in the charming Piazzetta dei Conti d'Aquino, and even a re-enactment of World War II, commemorating the events that took place in this part of Ciociaria along the Gustav Line.
Local delights
The gourmet heart of the event lies in the tastings of typical products from southern Lazio, featuring DOP and DOCG specialties and culinary demonstrations curated by hospitality schools and nutritionists. A journey of taste that promotes the local food supply chain, in collaboration with the Lazio Region and Arsial, the regional agency for agricultural development.
Music and evening atmosphere
As evening falls, the village lights up with concerts in the square, featuring local groups and tribute bands, creating a convivial atmosphere that concludes each day of the festival. Today, Storie e Delizie is the premier event that gathers and revitalizes the tradition of Aquino's historical festivals, from the Medieval Festival to the celebration of the city's roots.

The 2026 edition of Storie e Delizie was held on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, in the historic center of Aquino, confirming the successful formula that blends history, archaeology, and the gastronomy of the Ciociaria region, with the support of the Lazio Region and Arsial.

How to get there
Aquino is located in the province of Frosinone, along the Via Latina. By car: take the Cassino exit on the A1 Rome-Naples motorway, then follow the SS6 towards Aquino. By train: Aquino station on the Rome-Cassino-Naples line, just a short walk from the historic center.
Admission and tastings
Access to the streets and squares of the event is free. Tastings of typical products and some activities may require a contribution. It is recommended to check times and details on the official channels of the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Aquino.
