The Theatre of Gorizia
Overlooking Via Garibaldi, the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theatre has been the main cultural venue in Gorizia for over a century, a symbolic city of the eastern border and now European Capital of Culture along with nearby Nova Gorica. Its theatre season is the benchmark event for the people of Gorizia and the entire Isontino area, with a programme that accompanies spectators from October until late spring.
The programme is curated by the company Artisti Associati, under the artistic direction of Walter Mramor, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gorizia. In recent years, the season has reached almost thirty events, a sign of an increasingly broad offering capable of engaging different tastes and generations.
A Programme for All Tastes
The season is organised into sections that span the different languages of the stage. Drama remains the heart of the programming, featuring great classics and contemporary texts performed by well-known names in Italian theatre. Alongside it, the Music and Ballet section brings dance and musical productions to Gorizia, while Grand Events host musicals and high-profile shows, from the illusionism of Arturo Brachetti to the most famous titles in the genre.
There are also events dedicated to families with Verdi Young, the Sunday afternoon children's theatre series, and the in-depth meetings of Verdi Racconta, which complement the stage with moments of reflection and storytelling, often featuring great performers like Neri Marcorè.

Stagione Teatro Verdi Gorizia — edition 2026
The 2025/2026 Season of the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theatre of Gorizia features 29 events distributed from October 2025 to April 2026, divided into the sections Drama, Music and Ballet, Grand Events, Verdi Young (children's theatre) and Verdi Racconta. Artistic direction is entrusted to Walter Mramor for the company Artisti Associati.
Among the highlights of the season's opening are "Trieste 1954" with Simone Cristicchi and the musical "Singin' in the Rain". In the 2026 part of the season, "Othello", "Some Like It Hot", the transformation show "SOLO - The Legend of quick-change" by Arturo Brachetti, "Carmina Burana" and the tribute to Giorgio Gaber with Neri Marcorè are noteworthy.
