A historic season in the heart of Ancona
The «Contrappunti» Concert Season is the main classical music event in the City of Ancona, the capital of Marche. It is organized by the Società Amici della Musica «Guido Michelli», founded in 1914 and considered one of the oldest concert associations in Italy still active. Now in its 104th season, the association continues to bring leading performers and new generations of musicians to the 'dorico' capital.
The meaning of «Contrappunti»
The title chosen by the artistic direction, entrusted to Fabio Tiberi, reflects the philosophy of the festival: to create a dialogue between music from different eras and styles, both within the same program and throughout the entire season. Counterpoint, a compositional technique that intertwines multiple voices, thus becomes a metaphor for a program that juxtaposes the great repertoire with less frequently performed works.
The performers
The season brings together established names on the international scene and young talents. Among the protagonists are pianist Danilo Rea in a duo with Ramin Bahrami, violinist Anna Tifu, cellist Enrico Dindo, pianist Alessandro Taverna, and young artist Filippo Gorini, the association's artist in residence. Several concerts feature collaboration with the FORM – Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana.
Three venues for music
The eight concerts are spread across three city venues: five events at the Teatro Sperimentale, two at the prestigious Teatro delle Muse, and one in the Aula Magna d'Ateneo of the Polytechnic University of Marche. This choice roots the festival in the urban fabric of Ancona, from the historic theaters in the center to the university spaces.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Marche Region, the City of Ancona, and the Polytechnic University of Marche, «Contrappunti» represents a long-standing cultural cornerstone for the entire province of Ancona and for the audience of Marche. Over a century of activity makes the Società Amici della Musica «Guido Michelli» an essential reference point for the musical life of the capital.

The 104th «Contrappunti» Season
The 2025/2026 season of the Società Amici della Musica «Guido Michelli» of Ancona, titled «Contrappunti» and curated by artistic director Fabio Tiberi, brought together eight events from November 2025 to April 2026. The program alternated major international performers with young talents, distributing the concerts between the Teatro Sperimentale, the Teatro delle Muse, and the Aula Magna d'Ateneo of the Polytechnic University of Marche.
Opening the season on November 13, 2025, was the duo formed by Ramin Bahrami and Danilo Rea with «Bach is in the air»; closing it on April 16, 2026, was cellist Enrico Dindo with the FORM – Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. Among the other protagonists were violinist Anna Tifu in the Christmas Concert, pianist Alessandro Taverna, and artist in residence Filippo Gorini.

Where it takes place
The concerts are held in Ancona at three venues: the Teatro Sperimentale (via Redipuglia), the Teatro delle Muse (piazza della Repubblica, in the historic center), and the Aula Magna d'Ateneo of the Polytechnic University of Marche.
How to get there
Ancona is served by Ancona Centrale station, on the Adriatic line, and by Marche Airport (Falconara). By car, it can be reached via the A14 motorway, exit Ancona Nord or Ancona Sud.
Tickets and subscriptions
Season subscriptions range from 110 to 140 euros; single tickets from 5 to 30 euros depending on the venue and seating area, with reductions for under-26s.
