A month of jazz in the heart of Ancona
The Ancona Jazz Summer Festival is the summer chapter of the historic Ancona Jazz event, organized by the Spaziomusica association, active in the Marche capital since 1973. Every summer, for about a month between July and the first days of August, the festival transforms some of the most beautiful places in Ancona, in the Marche region, into open-air stages where you can listen to the best of contemporary jazz.
The city's stages
The strength of the festival lies precisely in the choice of venues, which enhance the city's historical and landscape heritage. The concerts are held in various locations, including the Mole Vanvitelliana, the large 18th-century pentagonal island overlooking the port, the Roman Amphitheatre, the evocative terrace of AION di Moroder among the Conero vineyards, and other city spaces. Each location offers a different atmosphere: the monumental elegance of the Mole, the archaeological charm of the amphitheatre, the view of the Adriatic during the seaside evenings.
A lineup between great masters and new talents
The program alternates legends of world jazz, leading European soloists, and emerging young bands, with a particular focus on the Scandinavian and Brazilian scenes. Over the years, the festival has hosted internationally renowned drummers and pianists, big bands, acclaimed trios, and refined vocalists, confirming itself as a reference point for enthusiasts throughout central Italy.
Not just concerts
Alongside the live performances, the Ancona Jazz Summer Festival offers a Jazz Academy with masterclasses and concerts by teachers and students, as well as photographic exhibitions and moments dedicated to the memory of great jazz figures. A formula that makes the festival not just a showcase of concerts, but a true musical laboratory open to the city.

Ancona Jazz Summer — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Ancona Jazz Summer Festival confirms its multi-venue format, with concerts spread from July 2 to August 1 between the Roman Amphitheatre, the terrace of AION di Moroder, and the Mole Vanvitelliana. The program alternates icons of world jazz, European soloists, and new talents, with a particular focus on the Scandinavian and Brazilian scenes. Among the most anticipated moments is the appearance of the legendary drummer Billy Cobham with his "Time Machine" project. The festival concludes with a series of concerts at the Mole, including the Jazz Academy evenings.
