A 10.1 km run between the Gulf of Naples and Stabian history
The Stabia Sea Run is a road race that brings the streets of Castellammare di Stabia, a coastal city in the province of Naples, to life every spring. Established in 2025, the event has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated dates on the Campania running calendar, attracting over twelve hundred athletes from across the region and beyond.
The FIDAL-certified course measures 10.1 kilometers and begins at the Villa Comunale, near the Banca Stabiese. From there, athletes run past the Cassarmonica, a cast-iron jewel of the waterfront, reach Piazza Giovanni XXIII with its Palazzo Farnese, and skirt the Marina di Stabia. It is a race that looks beyond the asphalt: the view stretches toward the Gulf of Naples, the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius, and the slopes of Monte Faito.
The Stabia Sea Run has two sides. On one hand, the competitive race, reserved for registered athletes and professionals, featuring rankings and awards; on the other, the non-competitive walk, designed for families, groups, and casual enthusiasts who want to experience the city on the move without the pressure of a stopwatch. This dual format makes the event a true popular celebration of sport, open to all ages and skill levels.
The event is organized by A.S.D. Antares Free Runner Stabia, a sports club active in the area for over forty years, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia and under the aegis of the FIDAL Campania Regional Committee. Each participant receives a race pack with a Joma technical t-shirt, refreshments along the route and at the finish line, professional photography, and an official medal depicting the city's medieval castle.
Running the Stabia Sea Run means experiencing the sport, sea, and history of one of the most evocative cities on the Gulf of Naples all at once. It is an opportunity to discover Castellammare di Stabia from an unusual perspective, amidst thermal baths, historic villas, and breathtaking views, during a spring day dedicated to athletics and community.
The Stabia Sea Run 2026 confirmed the event's growth: the competitive race, with a limited number of entries, sold out its 1,000 available bibs, while the non-competitive walk brought the total to over 1,200 participants. The start and finish were at the Villa Comunale of Castellammare di Stabia, with the usual sports village set up at the Banca Stabiese.

Castellammare di Stabia is served by the Circumvesuviana train line (Naples-Sorrento route), with a stop just a short walk from the waterfront, and by the Castellammare di Stabia motorway exit on the A3 Naples-Salerno highway. The Villa Comunale, where the start and finish lines are located, is in the heart of the city center.
