About Stabia Sea Run

The Stabia Sea Run is a road race that brings sport, sea, and history to the streets of Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples. This 10.1-kilometer competitive FIDAL race starts at the Villa Comunale and winds through the Cassarmonica, Piazza Giovanni XXIII, and the Marina di Stabia, offering stunning views of the Gulf of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and Monte Faito. Alongside the competitive race, there is a non-competitive walk open to families and enthusiasts. With over 1,200 athletes at the starting line, it is a celebration of athletics that blends competition with beautiful scenery.

The race that unites sport, sea, and history

The Stabia Sea Run is a road race that brings the streets of Castellammare di Stabia, a coastal city in the province of Naples, to life every spring. Established in 2025, the event has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated dates on the Campania running calendar, attracting over twelve hundred athletes from across the region and beyond.

A 10.1-kilometer course in the heart of Stabia

The FIDAL-certified course measures 10.1 kilometers and begins at the Villa Comunale, near the Banca Stabiese. From there, athletes run past the Cassarmonica, a cast-iron jewel of the waterfront, reach Piazza Giovanni XXIII with its Palazzo Farnese, and skirt the Marina di Stabia. It is a race that looks beyond the asphalt: the view stretches toward the Gulf of Naples, the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius, and the slopes of Monte Faito.

Competitive race and a walk for everyone

The Stabia Sea Run has two sides. On one hand, the competitive race, reserved for registered athletes and professionals, featuring rankings and awards; on the other, the non-competitive walk, designed for families, groups, and casual enthusiasts who want to experience the city on the move without the pressure of a stopwatch. This dual format makes the event a true popular celebration of sport, open to all ages and skill levels.

The organization

The event is organized by A.S.D. Antares Free Runner Stabia, a sports club active in the area for over forty years, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia and under the aegis of the FIDAL Campania Regional Committee. Each participant receives a race pack with a Joma technical t-shirt, refreshments along the route and at the finish line, professional photography, and an official medal depicting the city's medieval castle.

Why participate

Running the Stabia Sea Run means experiencing the sport, sea, and history of one of the most evocative cities on the Gulf of Naples all at once. It is an opportunity to discover Castellammare di Stabia from an unusual perspective, amidst thermal baths, historic villas, and breathtaking views, during a spring day dedicated to athletics and community.
