About SS. Peter and Paul Festival

The SS. Peter and Paul Patronal Festival is the most cherished event in Imer, a charming village in the Primiero valley, in the province of Trento. Every year at the end of June, the town celebrates its patron saints with a solemn mass, a procession, food stalls, craft markets, concerts, and sports competitions that bring the squares and streets of the historic center to life.

The patronal feast of Imer

The SS. Peter and Paul Patronal Festival is the most anticipated event of the year for the community of Imer, a picturesque village in the Primiero valley nestled in the Dolomites in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige. Dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, the town's protectors, the festival has always combined religious devotion with popular celebration, attracting residents, vacationers, and hikers who frequent the valley during this time.

Religious tradition and community

The spiritual heart of the festival is the solemn sung mass in the Parish Church, accompanied by a parade of banners and the participation of civil and military authorities, the Fire Brigade, the Alpini, and local folk groups from Primiero. It is a moment of strong identity for the Imer community, renewing the bond with their roots and patron saints.

Gastronomy, markets, and entertainment

Surrounding the religious celebrations is a rich program of events: food stalls offer traditional Trentino dishes and local specialties, while craft markets enliven the streets of the center with typical products and artisan goods. There is no shortage of concerts, dialect theater, square games, and screenings, making the festival an event for all ages.

Sports in the Dolomites

The Imer festival is also a celebration of outdoor sports. Saturday is dedicated to the younger generation with the Mini Imer Bike, a mountain bike race for children aged 7 to 16, while Sunday features the Spèteme che Rue, a non-competitive 10-kilometer running race on a scenic route organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Pavione. It is a perfect opportunity to experience the Primiero mountains in an atmosphere of joy and sharing.

Where and when

The event takes place in the historic center of Imer, between the Parish Church, the squares, and the Ex Sièghe area. It is held every year at the end of June, near the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul. For information and reservations, please contact the Imer Tourist Information Point.
