A day of nature, wellness, and community in the heart of Canelli
The Spring Festival – Nature and Wellness is the event that brings the historic center of Canelli to life every May. Located in the province of Asti, in the heart of the Piedmont region and the Monferrato hills, this wine city offers the perfect backdrop. Supported by the Municipality of Canelli and sponsored by the Piedmont Region, the Province of Asti, and the ATL Langhe Monferrato Roero, the event turns the town's squares and streets into a sprawling path where nature, craftsmanship, culture, and wellness intertwine for an entire day.
The theme is clear from the start: rediscovering our reconnection with the natural world, embracing slow rhythms, enjoying the fresh air, and finding balance between individuals and the community. It is a festival that celebrates spring by showcasing the city, decorating it with flowers, and promoting citizen well-being, with a special focus on sustainability, healthy food, and locally sourced artisanal products.
Every space in the center has its own identity. The commercial hub is the themed market between Piazza Cavour and Piazza Gancia, dedicated to wellness and natural living: handicrafts, natural cosmetics, and local nursery and agricultural products. Other squares host workshops and activities for all ages:
The soundtrack of the day is provided by the Canelli City Band and local musical groups, while the gastronomy is in the hands of the Pro Loco and local committees, offering regional specialties and spring-themed dishes also available at the center's bars and restaurants. There are plenty of cultural opportunities as well: the MUSA Museum, the Regional Wine Shop at Palazzo Giuliani, and exhibitions set up in municipal spaces. A complete day that captures the welcoming soul of Canelli and its territory.
The second edition of the Spring Festival – Nature and Wellness brought the historic center of Canelli to life on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Spanning Piazza Cavour, Piazza Gancia, Piazza Aosta, Piazza Zoppa, Via G.B. Giuliani, and the courtyard of the historic Cantina Contratto, the city transformed into a sprawling path dedicated to nature, wellness, and community. Promoted by the Municipality of Canelli with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Province of Asti, and the ATL Langhe Monferrato Roero, the day combined a themed market, workshops for all ages, holistic practices, live music, and street food.
A day spread across the squares and streets of Canelli's historic center.
Street food by the Pro Loco (ravioli and friciule) and the Palio Committee (farinata); spring-themed dishes in the center's bars and restaurants.
Openings of the MUSA Museum and the Regional Wine Shop (Palazzo Giuliani); "Giochi di colore" painting exhibition by Anna Clara Beccaris in the Sala delle Stelle of the Town Hall (until May 31).
The Spring Festival takes place on a Sunday in May, running continuously from morning to evening (approximately 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM). Admission is free.
