A Sunday of markets, music, and art in the abbey village
In Sesto al Reghena, a village in the Pordenone plain among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, the arrival of the warm season is celebrated with the Spring Festival along the Abbey's Roads. For an entire Sunday, the historic center and the spaces around the Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis, the village's identity core, fill with markets, music, art, and cultural initiatives.
The day features quality markets and craft stalls, food trucks, and areas dedicated to the food and wine excellences of Friuli Venezia Giulia, while the village restaurants offer themed menus. Along the village streets comes to life The Artists' Alley, with painters at work, and the shops remain open, in an intertwining of commerce, creativity, and conviviality.
The program combines historical and naturalistic tours - with middle school students acting as young guides - with concerts and DJ sets animated by the village's youth, and a parade of flag-wavers and drummers through the village streets. For families, there are also inflatables and introductory horseback riding, while the Abbey Hall hosts music and cultural events.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Sesto al Reghena together with Pro Sesto, the Association of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, and the Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis, with the collaboration of the Merchants' Consortium, the Terre del Tagliamento Commerce District, and the Le Vie dell'Abbazia association. The 2026 edition marks the first major event organized after the recognition of Italy's Attractive Village, obtained in April 2026: an occasion for celebration and promotion for a village with great historical heritage.
The 2026 Spring Festival takes place on Sunday, May 10, from 8:30 AM to 9 PM, involving the historic center and the spaces around the Abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis. It is the first major festival organized by the Municipality after the recognition as Italy's Attractive Village, received on April 18, 2026, in Corinaldo by the Association of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages.
Food and craft producers, activities for families, historical and naturalistic tours with student guides, music, the Artists' Alley, and flag-wavers make up a day full of events.
