The City of Children
Spoleto in Gioco is the annual event that the Municipality of Spoleto, in the province of Perugia, dedicates to younger children and teenagers. For an entire day, the squares of the city centre transform into a large, free, and accessible play space for everyone.
Three Squares, Many Activities
Activities take place in three locations in the centre: Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza Don Pino Puglisi (at the Auditorium della Stella), and Piazza San Gabriele dell'Addolorata. The programme combines sports, traditional wooden games, creative workshops, readings, and theatre: from archery to fencing, from gymnastics to chess, from pony encounters with the riding centre to activities with the municipal kennels, to workshops for the little ones and a sensory path dedicated to the Mediterranean diet.
A Community Celebration
The event is organised by the Municipality of Spoleto together with numerous local associations â sports clubs, libraries, civil protection volunteers, cooperatives â with a focus on inclusion and participation. It is one of the most beloved days for Spoleto families, included in the city's spring calendar.
Spoleto in Gioco â edition 2026
The 2026 Edition
Spoleto in Gioco 2026 takes place on Saturday, May 9th in the squares of the historic centre. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the three squares host sports, games, workshops, and readings; at 6:30 PM, the show by mentalist Andrea Paris, "Apparis Scomparis," takes place in Piazza Garibaldi.
Among the edition's activities: wooden games and painting on canvas with AnimArte, a sensory path dedicated to the Mediterranean diet, pony lessons with ASD Centro Ippico La Somma, gymnastics, fencing, archery, chess workshops, encounters with dogs from the municipal kennel, creative workshops for children aged 12 months to 6 years, and the library's reading corner.

Getting Here
Spoleto is on the Rome-Ancona railway line; from the station, the centre can be reached by the mechanized walkways. By car: take the Spoleto exit from the SS3 Flaminia. Piazza Garibaldi is located at the entrance to the historic centre.
