A month of Christmas magic
Natale di Terni is the grand event that, from late November until Epiphany, enlivens the historic center of the Umbrian capital. Markets, themed villages, light installations, games, and solidarity initiatives involve the entire city, transforming squares and streets into a widespread Christmas itinerary.
The Santa Claus Market and the Christmas Village
The heart of the event is the Santa Claus Market, with its characteristic illuminated wooden stalls in Largo Frankl: a large emporium of gift ideas immersed in the scents of cinnamon, hot chocolate, and mulled wine. Next to it comes to life the Christmas Village, with Santa Claus's house and fairytale atmospheres for families.
Lights, tree, and ice village
In Piazza Europa, a huge ecological and illuminated tree is lit up, while Piazza della Repubblica hosts an enchanted carousel and an ice village with an enchanted forest, igloos, light trees, and an ice skating rink. Food stalls and craft shops complete the market offerings.
Videomapping on historic buildings
Among the most spectacular novelties, from December 8th, the historic buildings of the Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality, and the BCT are illuminated by spectacular Christmas-themed videomapping. Natale di Terni thus confirms itself as one of the most anticipated events of winter in Umbria, capable of combining tradition, lights, and fun for all ages.
Natale di Terni — edition 2026
For the 2026 edition, Natale di Terni will again offer a widespread calendar that accompanies the city from late November until Epiphany. The Santa Claus Market in the stalls of Largo Frankl, the Christmas Village, the ecological illuminated tree in Piazza Europa, the carousel, and the ice village with an ice skating rink in Piazza della Repubblica will all be back.
The complete calendar of events, shows, and videomapping will be announced by the Municipality of Terni in the weeks leading up to the inauguration.
Programme Natale di Terni 2026
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the Municipality of Terni in the months preceding the event. The usual structure includes:
- Santa Claus Market — wooden stalls in Largo Frankl
- Christmas Village and Santa Claus's house
- Illuminated and ecological tree in Piazza Europa
- Ice village with ice skating rink, enchanted forest, and carousel in Piazza della Repubblica
- Christmas videomapping on the historic buildings of the center (from December 8th)
- Food and craft markets in the city squares

How to get there
Terni is served by the train station on the Rome-Ancona line and is reachable by car from the E45 and SS Flaminia. The events are concentrated in the historic center (Largo Frankl, Piazza Europa, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Tacito).
