A masked walk through the hamlets
The Sospirolo Carnival, in Valbelluna (province of Belluno), has a special formula: not a parade of allegorical floats but a large masked walk that crosses the hamlets of the Municipality. It is an event that combines the fun of Carnival with the pleasure of walking together, immersed in the landscape at the foot of the Belluno Dolomites.
A route through the villages
The masked procession starts from Ai Fant and winds through the hamlets of Torbe, Regolanova, Camolino and Gron, up to the final gathering for the awards. Each year the walk proposes a theme that inspires costumes and masked groups, with hundreds of participants coloring the town's streets. Prizes are awarded to the most original masks and the largest and most creative groups.
A community celebration
The Sospirolo Carnival is organized by the Pro Loco Monti del Sole together with AIB Sospirolo, the Gos da Gron group and the hamlet committees, with the involvement of many local realities. It is a celebration that well represents the community spirit of the Valbelluna villages, where even Carnival becomes an opportunity to come together and walk through the hamlets.
Sospirolo Carnival — edition 2026
The Sospirolo Carnival 2026 was held on Saturday, February 8, with over 300 participants in the masked walk. The theme of the edition, "If the devil puts his tail in it…", inspired numerous costumes with devils alongside saints and contrasting characters, with red and black dominating. The route started from Ai Fant and crossed Torbe, Regolanova, Camolino, and Gron, concluding at Prà de la Melia with final processions and awards. Among the winners: the most original mask (a reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf), the best small group ("What the devil of a class!"), the best large themed group ("I diavoli de Sospiroi") and the largest group (the scouts with the theme of the rainbow and hope). The event was organized by Pro Loco Monti del Sole with AIB Sospirolo, Gos da Gron, and the hamlet committees.

How to get there
Sospirolo is located in Valbelluna, about 15 km from Belluno, reachable by car on the road to Agordo. The masked walk crosses several hamlets of the Municipality.
Participation
The walk is open to everyone, in costume. Free participation; comfortable shoes are recommended for the walk through the hamlets.
