The Sondrio Festival

The Sondrio Festival is the International Exhibition of Park Documentaries, one of the longest-running and most prestigious film festivals dedicated to nature cinema. Running since 1987, every November it transforms the Teatro Sociale in Sondrio, the capital of Valtellina, into an international reference point for documentaries filmed in natural parks and protected areas worldwide.

The festival selects nature documentaries of high scientific and cinematic quality, from protected areas on every continent. The competitive section, judged by an international jury of directors, producers, naturalists, and park managers, is the heart of the event, awarding the most significant works for their quality and ability to tell stories about nature.
