The Sizzano Alpine Festival

The Sizzano Alpine Festival is the annual event organized by the Sizzano Alpini Group, the 16th group of the Novara Section of the National Alpini Association. It takes place in the municipality of Sizzano, a small wine-producing town in the Province of Novara, Piedmont, known for its prestigious DOC wine. For three days, the group's headquarters on Via Ludovico Il Moro becomes the town's meeting point, with the classic marquee hosting dinners and festive moments.

A community tradition

The festival reflects the spirit that has always animated the 'penne nere': conviviality, solidarity, and a commitment to memory. Alongside the gastronomic evenings, the program reserves space for the most solemn moment of the event on Sunday morning, when the Alpini gather at their headquarters for the parade to the monument, the flag-raising, the laying of flowers, and the march to the war memorial, followed by Holy Mass. It is the civic and identity-focused heart of the festival, an opportunity to honor those who served and to strengthen the bonds of the Sizzano community.

Fine dining under the marquee

The absolute star is the marquee kitchen. Friday and Saturday evenings offer dinners featuring seafood specialties, while Sunday concludes with the traditional Alpine lunch, a moment of great participation. The Alpini's kitchen, managed by the group's volunteers, has always been one of the festival's main attractions, filling the marquee with residents and visitors from neighboring towns.

The Sizzano Alpini Group

The group, led by the head of the group, meets every Friday evening at its headquarters and carries out numerous volunteering and community support initiatives throughout the year. The Alpine Festival represents the association's main public event, a showcase of its commitment and history. The event is part of the rich calendar of festivals and fairs that enliven the Bassa Novarese area during spring and summer.
