Chamber music with soloists from La Scala
Sintonie is the concert season of the Marcello Morandini Foundation, in Varese. Now in its third edition, the festival is dedicated to chamber music and takes place one Sunday a month, at 11 am, from May to December, for a total of seven events.
The 2026 season features fifteen musicians, eleven of whom come from the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, accompanied by internationally prominent soloists. Among them are pianist Davide Cabassi, a prize winner at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005, and Michele Gamba, an orchestra conductor performing here as a pianist. Also on stage are principal players from La Scala such as Alfredo Persichelli (cello) and Fabrizio Meloni (clarinet).
Sintonie's format combines listening with experiencing the space: at the end of each concert, the audience is invited to visit the Foundation's permanent collection, dedicated to the work of artist and designer Marcello Morandini, and to stay for an aperitif. The concert on October 11th will also feature the world premiere of a composition by Carlo Galante.
The Marcello Morandini Foundation is one of the leading cultural institutions in the Municipality of Varese and its province, dedicated to abstract-geometric art. With Sintonie, visual art and chamber music meet in a single Sunday offering.
