The sheep meat festival
The Festa della Pecora is held in the hamlet of Sant'Eraclio, on the outskirts of Foligno (Province of Perugia), and celebrates one of the most deeply rooted gastronomic traditions of the Umbrian Apennines: sheep and lamb meat. The event takes place at Parco Soli-Marchionni and attracts lovers of typical cuisine from all over the Foligno area every year.
Arrosticini, beer, and music
The menu revolves around arrosticini (grilled lamb skewers) and numerous sheep and lamb specialties, but other traditional dishes are also available. The evenings follow a now-tested script: opening of the stands with the 'pecoraperitivo', tastings accompanied by beer, and finally, concerts and live music with local bands and tribute bands.
A community festival
Organized with the involvement of the Sant'Eraclio community, the Festa della Pecora is one of the most anticipated summer events in the area, capable of transforming the hamlet into a large meeting place for food, beer, and Umbrian popular cheer.
Sheep Festival — edition 2026
The eighth edition of the Festa della Pecora will be held from August 22 to 25, 2026, at Parco Soli-Marchionni in Sant'Eraclio, a hamlet of Foligno. Four evenings of typical sheep and lamb cuisine, with stands opening at 7 PM for the 'pecoraperitivo' and arrosticini tastings accompanied by beer starting from 8 PM.
Each evening concludes with live music: a lineup of local bands and tribute groups will liven up the park until late.

How to get there
Sant'Eraclio is a hamlet of Foligno, reachable by car from the SS3 Flaminia. The event takes place at Parco Soli-Marchionni. A traffic ban is in effect on Via Sant'Abbondio during the festival.
Admission and catering
Free admission to the area; paid consumption at the food stands. Stands open from 7 PM with the 'pecoraperitivo'.
