The fried frog feast in the village of Selci
The Frog Festival is one of the most deeply rooted summer festivals in the Upper Tiber Valley. It takes place in the hamlet of Selci, in the municipality of San Giustino (Perugia), and has surpassed forty editions, a testament to its strong connection with the local community.
The absolute star of the festival is fried frog, a specialty of peasant tradition that gives the event its name. In addition to gastronomy, the Frog Festival features theatrical performances, music evenings, and the traditional fireworks, which draw crowds from the entire region. A very important event for Selci and the entire San Giustino area, where conviviality, tradition, and village celebration merge on warm July evenings.
The 2026 edition, the 42nd, of the Frog Festival returns to Selci from July 9th to 12th. The formula that has made the festival popular is confirmed: food stalls with fried frog and local dishes, theatrical performances, music evenings, and fireworks. The detailed program, including evening shows, will be released by the Pro Loco in the weeks prior.
The detailed 2026 program will be published by the Pro Loco of Selci-Lama. The established structure, over four evenings, includes:
