Sëira dl Vin – Wine Tasting along the Red Carpet

A wine evening in the heart of Val Gardena

The Sëira dl Vin—literally "the wine evening" in Ladin—is one of the most anticipated summer food and wine events in Santa Cristina Valgardena/St. Christina in Gröden, in the province of Bolzano, nestled in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. Every July, the Bënunì pedestrian zone in the village center transforms into an elegant open-air lounge: a long red carpet welcomes winery stands, inviting visitors to stroll from one tasting station to the next with a glass in hand.

South Tyrolean wineries and wines

The absolute stars of the evening are the South Tyrolean wines: over twenty wineries from the region present their premium labels, highlighting the native grapes that have made this land famous. Among the most representative varieties are the Lagrein, a robust red wine, and the Gewürztraminer, an aromatic white that serves as a symbol of the territory, alongside Schiava, Pinot Bianco, and many others. It is the ideal opportunity to discover and compare the best of South Tyrolean winemaking in a single evening, guided directly by the producers.

Gastronomy and live music

The wine tasting is paired with traditional South Tyrolean and Ladin culinary specialties served along the route: local dishes, regional products, and mountain street food that complete the sensory experience. To make the atmosphere even more festive, local bands perform live, keeping the evening lively until late.

The "Wine Gondola"

Among the most original features of the event is the exclusive tasting held inside a wooden cable car cabin: accompanied by an expert sommelier, participants sample a selection of fine wines while learning about their origins, characteristics, and unique stories in an intimate and unusual setting.

Santa Cristina is one of the three villages in Val Gardena, set at the foot of the Sassolungo and Sella groups, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Sëira dl Vin combines the discovery of great South Tyrolean wines with the charm of a summer evening at altitude, in a municipality with a strong Ladin identity. The event is organized by the Santa Cristina Val Gardena Tourist Association and represents one of the highlights of the Gardena summer.
