Evenings of swing, rock'n'roll, and vintage vibes on the Latina seafront
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Sea Swing Festival was born in 2025 in Latina, in the province of Latina and in the heart of the Lazio coast, with a simple and successful idea: to bring live swing music to the seaside in a public, free-entry space. The chosen setting is Piazza dei Navigatori, in the seaside resort of Foce Verde, just minutes from the center of Latina: a square open to the seafront that, for a few summer evenings, becomes an open-air dance floor.
The festival features a repertoire ranging from the classic swing of great American and Italian orchestras to the rock'n'roll and rhythm and blues of the fifties and sixties, including contemporary vintage-style reinterpretations. Each evening features a different ensemble, chosen for their musical quality and ability to engage the audience: it's not just about listening, but about dancing, singing, and participating.
What made the first edition an immediate success was not just the quality of the concerts, but the atmosphere: the audience often arrives in 1940s and 50s attire, dance couples occupy the space in front of the stage, and the square takes on the look of an open-air ballroom. The organizers reported attendance far exceeding expectations from the very first night, with hundreds of people present until late in the evening.
The festival is conceived and organized by the ASDC FAP association, with the contribution of the Lazio Region and the patronage of the Municipality of Latina – Tourism Department. The initiative is part of a strategy to promote the Pontine coast during the summer months, with events capable of attracting crowds beyond beach hours and bringing the city's seaside districts to life.
Latina is a planned city from the 1930s, with a rationalist urban layout that makes it unique in the Lazio region. Its coastline stretches for kilometers of sandy beach between Foce Verde, Latina Lido, and Capoportiere, at the gates of the Circeo National Park. An evening at the Sea Swing Festival easily combines with a day at the beach, a visit to the coastal lakes of Fogliano and Monaci, or a walk toward the Circeo promontory and Sabaudia.
The concerts take place outdoors in the evening: it is advisable to arrive early to find a spot near the stage and, if you want to fully embrace the spirit of the event, wear something vintage. The seafront offers numerous kiosks, bars, and restaurants where you can dine before the show, featuring the typical seafood cuisine of the Pontine coast.
The 2026 edition of the Sea Swing Festival has not yet been officially announced. At the end of the first edition, the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Latina stated they were already working on the next one, hoping the festival would become a permanent fixture of the Pontine summer. Pending confirmation, the reference remains the period between late July and early August and the venue of Piazza dei Navigatori, in Foce Verde.
By car: from Rome, take the Via Pontina (SS148) to Latina, then the Lungomare road towards Foce Verde. By train: Latina Scalo station on the Rome-Naples line, then local bus towards the coast. Nearest airports: Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino.
All evenings have free admission, no booking required.
