The event, organized by the Pro Loco Città di Anzio, serves as the perfect finale to the seaside town's busy summer calendar, offering a weekend dedicated to reading, collecting, and a passion for comics.

A market for readers and collectors

The heart of Antium Heroes is the large exhibition space that welcomes bookstores, comic shops, independent publishers, and specialized merchants. Among the stalls, you can find:

• Books, both new and used, with a focus on independent publishing and collector's volumes;
• Comics, from both Italy and abroad, ranging from vintage issues to new releases, as well as manga and graphic novels;
• Vinyl records, both vintage and collectible, an irresistible draw for music lovers;
• Gadgets, memorabilia, and collectibles related to the worlds of cinema, video games, and pop culture.

The atmosphere is that of a typical comic and collectibles fair, with a diverse crowd ranging from young readers to expert collectors, all in an informal and convivial setting often animated by fans in costume.

The choice of Piazza Garibaldi, one of the city's main squares, is no coincidence: its central location overlooking the coast makes the event easily accessible and integrates it into daily city life. The event is part of a summer calendar that, between July and September, offers dozens of events in Anzio, including music, theater, markets, and maritime traditions like the Palio del Mare.

Located on the Tyrrhenian coast south of Rome, in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital in Lazio, Anzio—the ancient Antium—boasts origins dating back to Roman times. It was the birthplace of emperors Nero and Caligula and still preserves important archaeological sites today. The event's name, Antium Heroes, playfully references the city's heroic and legendary past, bridging ancient history with contemporary pop culture.
