The May Day celebration on the Mazzeo seafront, blending sea, sustainability, and music.
The Sea Festival is the May Day event held in Mazzeo, a seaside village in the municipality of Taormina, in the Metropolitan City of Messina, Sicily. The event takes place along the coast, with its heart in Piazza Pablo Pino, transforming the public holiday into a grand collective celebration dedicated to the sea, its protection, and the start of the beach season.
Recent editions have been titled "Blue Rebirth", focusing on sustainability, community, and the revival of beach activities along the Mazzeo coast. The festival aims to bridge the gap between Taormina's historic center and its coastline, highlighting the local community, environment, and identity through a unified narrative of renewal.
The program runs throughout the day on May 1st:
