An evening of Sardinian flavors and traditions at Parco Idillio in Volpedo
Some festivals are born to bring people together around a table and a distant tradition. The Sardinian Festival in Volpedo, a small town in the Province of Alessandria in the heart of Piedmont, is one of these: an evening that brings the flavors, scents, and hospitality of Sardinia to the hills of the Val Curone. The event takes place at Parco Idillio, a green space on Via Lobetti Bodoni, which hosts outdoor shows and gatherings throughout the year.
The heart of the festival is the set menu, designed to introduce Sardinian cuisine to those who have never tasted it and to bring a taste of home to those who carry Sardinia in their hearts. You will dine outdoors, in good company, with the conviviality typical of Piedmontese village festivals combined with the warmth of island hospitality. Fine beer accompanies the dishes, while the atmosphere remains the relaxed and familiar one of summer evenings under the park's trees.
The Sardinian Festival is also an opportunity to discover the local area. This edition features the presentation of the new information point dedicated to the Cammino di San Michele, a route that crosses the Tortona lands, weaving together spirituality, landscape, and local culture. After dinner, entry to the park is free, allowing the evening to continue with music and socializing.
Volpedo is famous for being the birthplace of the Divisionist painter Giuseppe Pellizza, author of the famous The Fourth Estate: a visit to the Sardinian Festival can therefore also become an opportunity to discover one of the most charming villages in the Tortona area.
