A day in the saddle through the villages of Amiata and the vineyards of the Maremma
The Santa Fiora and Monte Amiata Motorcycle Rally is one of the most beloved motorcycling events in the Tuscan hinterland. It takes place in Santa Fiora, a picturesque stone village perched on the slopes of Monte Amiata, in the province of Grosseto, in the heart of the Maremma. Organized by the Moto Club Santa Fiora ASD, the rally has reached its twenty-first edition and has established itself as a classic early-summer appointment for motorcycle enthusiasts from all over Tuscany and beyond.
The heart of the day consists of two tourist tours that traverse some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Amiata region. The first itinerary, titled "Monte Amiata and its villages," climbs to 1,500 meters at Prato della Contessa, offering views that stretch across the entire Maremma. The second afternoon ride winds through the vineyards of Brunello di Montalcino and Montecucco, with a stop for a local wine tasting.
More than just a race or a bike parade, the rally is primarily a moment for celebration and meeting. Registration and awards take place in Piazza Garibaldi, the village's living room, where the collective dinner and live concert are held in the evening. The participation fee, kept low to be accessible to everyone, includes a souvenir gadget, breakfast, an aperitif, and a tasting, confirming the friendly and familiar spirit of the event.
The current edition is dedicated to the memory of Annibale Raponi, a historic figure of the Moto Club Santa Fiora, a highly esteemed person in the village and a tireless organizer: thanks to his commitment, Santa Fiora has previously hosted rounds of the Italian and European Trial Championships. The Memorial named after him renews the bond between the rally, the town, and the Amiata motorcycling community every year.
Listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, Santa Fiora is famous for its Peschiera, the springs of the Fiora river, and its medieval historic center. Participating in the rally is also an opportunity to discover this corner of Tuscany, less traveled by mass tourism, where the nature of Monte Amiata blends with the history and high-quality food and wine of the Grosseto Maremma.
The 21st edition of the Santa Fiora and Monte Amiata Motorcycle Rally takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, organized by the Moto Club Santa Fiora with meeting and registration in Piazza Garibaldi. The day includes two scenic itineraries, social moments, and evening entertainment, dedicated to the Annibale Raponi Memorial.
The registration fee is €10 and includes a souvenir gadget, breakfast, an aperitif, and a tasting of typical local products from the Amiata region.
Santa Fiora can be reached by car or motorcycle from the SS2 Cassia road with a detour towards Monte Amiata, or from the SR74 Maremmana. The nearest train station is in Grosseto, about 60 km away.
The meeting point is in Piazza Garibaldi. Registration takes place on-site on the morning of the event (times indicated in the program). The participation fee is approximately €10 and includes a souvenir gadget, breakfast, an aperitif, and a tasting.
We recommend appropriate motorcycle gear for the high-altitude sections and booking accommodation if you are arriving from afar: the village and its surroundings offer numerous lodging facilities nestled in the greenery of Amiata.
