42 km along the Flower Riviera coast, from the cycle path to the sea
The Sanremo Marathon is the marathon of the city of flowers, in the province of Imperia. The start is from the famous Sanremo Casino and the route runs along the coast, largely on the cycle path of the Riviera dei Fiori Coastal Park, built on the old railway line, passing through the seaside villages of western Liguria.
The event offers various distances: the 42 km marathon, the 21 km half marathon, the 10 km, the 5 km, and the Family Run of 2.5 km, designed to involve families and less experienced runners. The route, mostly flat and overlooking the sea, is ideal for those seeking a fast and scenic course.
Running the Sanremo Marathon means experiencing the Riviera dei Fiori from a privileged perspective, amidst the sea, palm trees, and historic villages like Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, Santo Stefano al Mare, and Ospedaletti. An event that combines sport and tourism, attracting runners from all over Italy and abroad at the end of the season.
The 2026 edition, the 7th, is scheduled for Sunday, December 6th, with the start from the Sanremo Casino. The 42 km route runs along the coast, passing through the villages of Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, Santo Stefano al Mare, and Ospedaletti.
Multiple distances are offered: 42K, 21K, 10K, 5K, and the Family Run of 2.5 km. Bib collection takes place from December 2nd to 4th at the Pian di Poma athletics track.
The start is at the Sanremo Casino, in the city center. Sanremo is served by the train station on the Genoa-Ventimiglia line; by car, take the Sanremo exit on the A10 motorway.
Registration is via the official website. Bib collection takes place in the days before the race, usually at the Pian di Poma athletics track.
