The wine symbol of Romagna celebrates in the heart of Coriano
For more than fifty years, at the end of summer, the historic center of Coriano โ a village in the hills of the Rimini hinterland, in Emilia-Romagna โ comes alive for the Fiera del Sangiovese, today relaunched as Sangiovese Street Festival (and in some years *Coriano Wine Festival*). It is one of the longest-standing and most anticipated food and wine events in the Province of Rimini, entirely dedicated to the wine that best tells the identity of Romagna.
Sangiovese di Romagna is today a designation with sixteen officially recognized sub-zones, three of which are located in the Rimini area: Coriano, San Clemente, and Verucchio. The fair showcases the best labels from artisanal wineries in the territory, offering the public the opportunity to discover the different vinifications of a single grape variety. Expert sommeliers guide the tastings, accompanying visitors through the most renowned labels and discussing the production and curiosities of Sangiovese in the company of the producers.
The wine from the Coriano hills is paired with gastronomic specialties prepared with local ingredients and served by the Pro Loco stands and local restaurateurs: traditional dishes, stuffed piadine, and Romagnolo street food. The evenings are accompanied by live music, concerts, and DJ sets, in a true Romagnolo spirit, with offerings for all ages. In recent editions, the Teatro CorTe hosts tasting booths and in-depth sessions dedicated to the labels from local wineries.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Coriano, the fair takes place in Piazza Don Minzoni and the streets of the town center, from late afternoon until night. Admission is free, and the event also focuses on environmental respect, using eco-compostable materials for consumption. More than just an event, it is a moment of celebration for the entire community: good food, good wine, music, and friendship, in the setting of the hills that frame the Rimini Riviera.
The 2026 edition of the Sangiovese Fair in Coriano is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Piazza Don Minzoni. The first evening opens with a concert, while the musical program for Sunday will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. Organized by the Pro Loco of Coriano; free admission.
The detailed program for the second evening will be announced by the Pro Loco of Coriano in the weeks preceding the event. Free admission.
