About San Valentino Arte

During the month of San Valentino, Terni dedicates an international contemporary art competition of global scope to art. San Valentino Arte brings artists from every continent to the city, called to engage with a different theme each edition. Exhibitions, awards ceremonies, guided tours, and workshops for schools animate the halls of the Diocesan Museum, transforming the city of the patron saint of lovers into a crossroads of languages and cultures, where tradition and avant-garde dialogue in the name of art.

Contemporary art in the city of San Valentino

San Valentino Arte is the international contemporary art competition that animates Terni, the city of the patron saint of lovers, every February. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Terni, brings together artists from different geographical contexts and expressive languages, on a theme that changes with each edition.

An international crossroads

The competition attracts artists from numerous nations across different continents, making Terni a meeting point between cultures and trends in contemporary art. The selected works are exhibited and awarded, in a process that values both established protagonists and new proposals.

Exhibitions, workshops, and outreach

In addition to exhibitions, the program includes awards ceremonies, guided tours, educational activities for primary schools, creative workshops for children, and collateral events dedicated to solidarity, scientific dissemination, and cultural promotion. The main venue is the Diocesan and Chapter Museum, in the heart of the Umbrian city, which for the occasion opens its doors to a broad and diverse audience.
