An evening of music in the ancient abbey of Parodi Ligure, supporting organ donation
In the heart of the Oltregiogo, where Piedmont blends into Liguria, the Municipality of Parodi Ligure (Province of Alessandria) hosts an evening that brings together two precious things: great music and generosity. The San Remigio Concert is a charity event benefiting AIDO (Italian Association for the Donation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells), designed to promote the culture of giving through the emotion of a live performance.
The program bears a title that serves as a declaration of intent: "Journey into Beauty". Taking the stage are Carlo Fortunato and Giorgio Vercillo, for a musical journey meant to guide the audience through intense and refined atmospheres, perfectly in dialogue with the solemnity of the venue.
The setting is one of the territory's best-kept secrets. The former Monastery (or Abbey) of San Remigio dates back to the 11th century: founded by Benedictine monks who reclaimed the Albedosa valley, it served as an important religious, economic, and cultural center of the Oltregiogo for nearly four hundred years. Deconsecrated and donated to the Municipality in 1984, it has been carefully restored and is now a space dedicated to concerts, exhibitions, and conferences, offering visitors the charm of its thousand-year history.
Attending a concert within these walls means enjoying a dual experience: listening to music while discovering a monument that tells centuries of monastic life in the Parodi Ligure area.
The initiative is part of the tradition of musical and charity events that have enlivened the former Monastery of San Remigio for years, confirming it as one of the most evocative cultural venues in the Province of Alessandria.
The 2026 charity evening brings the "Journey into Beauty" concert to the San Remigio Abbey, performed by Carlo Fortunato and Giorgio Vercillo. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Parodi Ligure, confirms the monastery's vocation as a space for music and culture in the Alessandria Oltregiogo region. Admission is by voluntary donation, and all proceeds will be donated to AIDO, the Italian Association for the Donation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells.
The detailed musical program has not yet been published by the organizers: it will be announced closer to the date of the event.
