The San Michele Fair in Colonnella

The San Michele Fair is the most cherished spring event in Colonnella, a small hilltop village in the Val Vibrata, located in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. The festival is held in honor of Saint Michael the Archangel, the town's patron saint whose feast day is May 8th. It is organized on the Sunday closest to this date, bringing the streets and squares of the historic center to life.

From agricultural roots to a regional showcase

Originally established as a hub for trade and commerce within the farming community, the fair has evolved over the years into a true exhibition of the food, wine, and craft excellence of the Teramo area. At the stalls, visitors can discover aged cheeses, cured meats that tell the stories of generations, freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil, local wines, and preserves prepared according to old family recipes. It is a sensory journey that highlights the work of local producers, who are the guardians of biodiversity and the high quality of the region's raw materials.
