San Luigi Gonzaga Flower Festival

The 61st edition of the San Luigi Gonzaga Flower Festival enlivens Città della Pieve from June 11 to 21, 2026. The theme chosen for this year is 'Laudato Sì', inspired by Pope Francis's encyclical and the relationship between humanity and creation.

For over ten days, the Umbrian village offers a rich program of events, with the Taverna del Barbacane, flower and plant markets, workshops, and shows, leading up to the highlight: the laying of the floral carpet on the night between June 20 and 21, on the occasion of Corpus Domini.

Taverna del Barbacane

Open to the public in the Orti del Palazzo Vescovile on June 11-14 and 17-20, with traditional Pieve dishes: snails with pizzico, wild boar with tarragon, pici pasta, tagliatelle, gnocchi, and grilled meats.

Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21 — The Flower Festival

• Creation of the large floral carpet, from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning, from Porta Sant'Agostino to the Cathedral
• Flower, plant, and natural object market exhibition
• Corpus Domini solemnity with procession on the flower carpet

How to get there

Città della Pieve is located in the southwestern corner of Umbria, near the border with Tuscany. By car, it can be reached from the Fabro or Chiusi-Chianciano exit of the A1 motorway. The train station is on the Rome-Florence line.

Admission
