About Saint Louis Festival

The Saint Louis Festival is the August feast of the hamlet of Bagnolo di Nogarole Rocca, in the province of Verona. Dedicated to Saint Louis, patron saint of young people, it takes place in Via Europa and offers traditional Veronese dishes – particularly tripe and 'risotto al tastasal' prepared by the Alpini of Bagnolo – along with evenings of music and dancing. A long-standing and deeply rooted village festival, organized by the Gruppo Alpini di Bagnolo with the involvement of the entire community.

The Bagnolo Feast

The Saint Louis Festival is the summer event of the hamlet of Bagnolo, in Nogarole Rocca, a municipality in the plains of the province of Verona. Dedicated to Saint Louis Gonzaga, patron saint of young people, it is traditionally held in August along Via Europa, in the heart of the hamlet.

The Alpini's Cuisine

The heart of the festival is the large food stand, managed by the Gruppo Alpini di Bagnolo, where you can taste traditional Veronese dishes. Among the most beloved specialties are tripe and 'risotto al tastasal' – a typical Veronese dish made with ground and seasoned pork – which have been attracting gourmets from all over the area for years. The stands open every evening from 7:30 PM, accompanied by evenings of music and entertainment.

A Village Tradition

Now in its many editions, the Saint Louis Festival is one of the most established festivals in the Veronese plain. Organized by the Alpini with the spirit of community and solidarity typical of the 'penne nere' (black feathers), it combines the devotional aspect linked to the patron saint of young people with a popular celebration, in a convivial atmosphere that is part of the identity of Bagnolo and Nogarole Rocca.

Saint Louis Festival — edition 2026

In 2026, the Saint Louis Festival will once again liven up the hamlet of Bagnolo di Nogarole Rocca in August, with the Alpini's food stand (tripe and 'risotto al tastasal'), music, and dance evenings in Via Europa. The precise dates and detailed program will be announced by the Gruppo Alpini di Bagnolo closer to the event.

The 2026 edition of the Saint Louis Festival is expected, as tradition dictates, in August in the hamlet of Bagnolo di Nogarole Rocca, on Via Europa. The event will again feature the food stand organized by the Alpini, with tripe and 'risotto al tastasal', accompanied by evenings of music and dancing.
