Two days of faith, typical dinner, and conviviality in Valchiavenna
The Saint Guglielmo Festival takes place in San Giacomo Filippo, a municipality in the province of Sondrio located at the entrance of Valchiavenna, around the church dedicated to the saint. It is an event with a strong parish and community character, organized by the village volunteers.
The program alternates religious moments—the Holy Mass on Saturday and Sunday—with the convivial part, featuring a typical dinner accompanied by music and a communal lunch on Sunday. There are also prize draws, auctions, and recreational activities designed for children, making the festival suitable for families.
The proceeds from the event are donated to the Parish of San Giacomo: participating also means supporting the life of the local community. The festival is an excellent opportunity to discover an authentic corner of alpine Lombardy, far from the most crowded tourist circuits.
The 2026 edition of the Saint Guglielmo Festival is scheduled for May, following the established tradition of the event. The precise dates and program will be communicated by the organizers on the festival's social media channels (@festadisanguglielmo). The format will mirror that of recent editions, spread over a weekend.
The detailed 2026 program will be announced on the festival's social media channels. Based on the previous edition, the usual structure includes:
San Giacomo Filippo can be reached from Chiavenna along the valley; the reference train station is Chiavenna, the terminus of the line from Colico.
