The patronal festival of Casale Corte Cerro

Every spring, the town of Casale Corte Cerro, in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province, gathers to honor its patron saint, Saint George the Martyr, with a festival spanning nearly two weeks, from April 23rd to May 3rd. It is one of the most cherished events for the local community, skillfully blending religious devotion with the popular, convivial spirit that has always defined village festivals in the Cusio area.

Faith and tradition

The spiritual heart of the festival is the celebration of the patron saint: the solemn high mass, accompanied by services dedicated to Saint George, marks the most important days on the calendar and draws worshippers and locals to the parish church. Surrounding these celebrations is a rich program of events designed to engage all ages, from families to the younger crowd.

The Wine Court and the food marquee

A true symbol of the festival is the Wine Court, established in 2017 as part of the Saint George festivities. Set up in the former Fontana del Vino space on Via Roma, it offers a selection of over forty labels from the local area and across Northern Italy, to be enjoyed in an informal and welcoming atmosphere. Alongside the Wine Court, the food marquee brings the festival to life every evening with local cuisine, musical nights, and shows, turning the town center into a meeting point for the entire community.

A festival for the whole town

The Saint George Patronal Festival is organized by the Saint George Committee in collaboration with the food marquee staff, with the support of the Municipality and the parish. More than just a single event, it is an experience that unites a passion for fine wine, good company, and a deep connection to the land: a way to experience the authentic Piedmont, far from the major tourist circuits, in this small village overlooking Lake Orta.
