The Rimella Fair is the agricultural and livestock fair of the Municipality of Rimella, a tiny village nestled in Upper Valsesia, in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont. Organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco of Rimella, the event is part of the rich calendar of Valsesian agricultural fairs that, from May to October, mark the rural life of the valley and celebrate its farming and mountain identity.

A Walser village in the mountains

Rimella is one of the characteristic Walser settlements of Valsesia, a community of Alemannic origin that has inhabited the high altitudes of the Alps since the Middle Ages, keeping its language, architecture, and traditions alive. This cultural heritage makes the Rimella Fair much more than a simple livestock show: it is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic alpine culture of a village that proudly guards its roots.

What to see at the fair

The day revolves around the livestock exhibition—cattle, sheep, and horses from local farms—and stalls featuring typical products of the Valsesian mountains: tome and alpine cheeses, butter, cured meats, and local specialties. The autumn fairs of Valsesia

The Rimella Fair is part of the cycle of autumn fairs in Valsesia, coordinated by the Unione Montana dei Comuni della Valsesia. In October, the schedule includes the Upper Valsesia Fair in Campertogno, the Rimella Fair, and the Valsesian Fair of Gabbio in Quarona: a journey through the valley's villages that tells the story of the deep bond between mountain communities, livestock farming, and alpine pastures.
