Saint Gaetan Festival

A tradition spanning the 20th century

In San Biagio, a hamlet of Cinto Caomaggiore in the easternmost part of the province of Venice, bordering Friuli, the Festa di San Gaetano is an event that has been renewed for almost a century. In 2025, the festival celebrated its 92nd edition, a sign of its deep roots in the rural community that gathers around this event every August. Organized by the San Biagio Association with the local AVIS section and the municipal administration, it is one of the most beloved village festivals in eastern Veneto.

Cuisine, the heart of the festival

The food stand is the real strong point of the festival. The most anticipated specialty is fried chicken, accompanied by grilled meats cooked over charcoal and local wines. There is also a kiosk with a beer garden, creating a convivial atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the area, immersed in the green countryside between Veneto and Friuli.

Music and dancing every evening

The evenings are marked by liscio dance orchestras, an authentic institution of Venetian festivals, alternating with DJ sets that liven up the dance floor until late at night. Over the years, well-known names from the liscio and dance music scenes have performed, with themed nights ranging from traditional dance music to techno nights. Admission to the dance floor is free, under a large covered area.

A festival for everyone

In addition to food and music, the Festa di San Gaetano offers inflatable games for children, ample parking, and spaces designed for families. It is an event that unites generations and keeps alive the bond between the hamlet of San Biagio and its agricultural roots, in that borderland of Veneto where popular traditions resist the passage of time.
