The patron saint of Dosimo
The Saint Columba Festival is the patronal feast of the hamlet of Dosimo, in the Municipality of Persico Dosimo, in the province of Cremona. Saint Columba of Cordoba is venerated here twice a year; the summer festival, in the fourth week of August, commemorates the translation of the Saint's body from the farmhouse of Cà del Zappa to the parish church of Dosimo. The relics are kept in the church of San Giovanni Battista.
The procession ritual
The most solemn moment is the procession with the Patron Saint's urn through the village streets, accompanied by the historic "Santa Cecilia" Band of Bozzolo, preceded by solemn Vespers. In recent editions, the solemn Holy Mass has been presided over by the Bishop, testifying to the deep bond between the community and its devotion.
Shows, dancing, and Luna Park
Alongside the religious dimension, the festival offers evening shows in the Oratory courtyard: comedy sketches, country dance performances, a lottery draw, as well as exhibitions at the Town Hall and the Luna Park in Piazza Roma. The event is organized by the local Pastoral Unit with the village associations, under the patronage of the Unione del Delmona.
A summer of festivals in Delmona
The Saint Columba Festival opens the late-summer festival season in Persico Dosimo, followed shortly after by the Persichello Festival. It is an event that tells the rural identity of the Cremona plain, where the patron saint's feast remains the focal point of the community calendar.

The 2026 edition of the Saint Columba Festival in Dosimo is expected in the fourth week of August, following the tradition that links the feast to the translation of the Patron Saint's relics. The detailed schedule has not yet been published.
As in recent editions, solemn Vespers and the procession with the urn accompanied by the "Santa Cecilia" Band of Bozzolo are expected, a solemn Holy Mass, exhibitions at the Town Hall, evening shows at the Oratory, and the Luna Park in Piazza Roma.
