The Saint Benedict Festival, the city's main civil and religious celebration, takes place around this date, transforming the central squares into a lively meeting place for several days, featuring liturgical services, music, popular cuisine, and family-friendly entertainment.

Organizers

The event is managed by the Saint Benedict Abbot Festival Committee, a historic local organization founded in 1968 and reconstituted in 2023, which collaborates with the Municipality of Pomezia and the Saint Benedict Abbot parish. The Committee handles fundraising, stand setup, and program coordination, using a participatory approach that involves local associations, merchants, and volunteers.

A program between faith and public celebration

The religious core of the event is the Solemn Mass on July 11th, celebrated with the participation of the Bishop of the Suburbicarian Diocese of Albano, the Mayor, and city officials, followed by choral performances and fireworks in honor of the Saint. In the following days, the program shifts to a more festive atmosphere:

• Food stalls featuring local Lazio specialties and traditional cuisine;
• Craft market and stalls from local associations;
• Dance evenings with live orchestras and band concerts;
• Funfair and activities for children, from reading workshops to cooking classes;
