The Patron Saint of Castenedolo

Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, celebrated by the Church on August 24th, is the patron saint of Castenedolo, a municipality in the hinterland of Brescia overlooking the Colli dei Longobardi. The town's parish church is dedicated to him, and around his feast day, the community gathers each year in the late summer days for one of the most cherished events on the local calendar.

The Saint Bartholomew Festival unfolds over several days, bringing together three dimensions: spirituality, with liturgical celebrations and a solemn Mass in honor of the patron saint; culture, with meetings and initiatives promoted by the parish and the oratory; and conviviality, with festive evenings that liven up the town center.

The Procession and Stalls in Piazza Cavour

Among the most anticipated moments is the traditional procession with the saint's effigy through the town streets, accompanied by hymns and prayers. The evenings, on the other hand, revolve around the food stalls in Piazza Cavour, where you can taste typical dishes and share the celebration, with live music and entertainment. The Oratorio Pio X, the educational and social heart of the community, is one of the main organizers of the festivities.
