History Comes Alive in Maclodio

Re-enactment with the Archers of 1427 is the festival with which Maclodio, a municipality in the Bassa Bresciana area of the Brescia province, celebrates the episode that linked its name to history: the Battle of Maclodio on October 12, 1427, in which the Venetian army led by Carmagnola defeated the Milanese troops of the Visconti. An event that shaped the balance of power in Northern Italy in the 15th century.

Between Archers and Flag-Wavers

The heart of the event is the archery competition, which sees four teams compete, directly recalling the archers who were protagonists of the historical clash. Accompanying the competition are the flag-wavers, vintage games, and the evocative atmosphere of a re-enactment that brings ancient and magical atmospheres back to life, engaging both adults and children.

Engines and Tradition

Alongside the historical dimension, the festival also features a display of vintage cars and motorcycles, which complements the charm of the medieval past with that of historical vehicles. An unusual but successful combination that broadens the audience and enriches the weekend's program at the Municipal Sports Centre.

The Commitment of Pro Loco

Organized by the Pro Loco Maclodio Association, the event keeps alive the memory of the battle, which was historically re-enacted in a larger format every five years and which the town has chosen to celebrate annually in a more streamlined version. A way to enhance Maclodio's historical identity and its place in the history of the province of Brescia.
