The Saint Anne's Festival is the patronal festival of Zoppè di Cadore, a small village in the province of Belluno nestled at the foot of Mount Pelmo. Saint Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, is the protector of the village, and her feast day, July 26th, is the most cherished event of the year for the community.
The day combines religious observance with conviviality. In the morning, the solemn mass is celebrated; in the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, the Patriarchal Vespers are held in the Church of Saint Anne, accompanied by the historic 1746 organ, considered the oldest in Cadore. The tradition of pilgrimages from nearby villages and hamlets, such as Bragarezza and the settlements of the Baliato di Coi and Col, who ascend to Zoppè to honor the saint, also survives.
In the evening, the festival continues in a more popular vein with the gastronomic stand, serving French fries and sandwiches, and musical entertainment from 8:30 PM. An event that tells the soul of a small alpine community, between faith, music, and conviviality.
