The Saint Simon Festival
The Patron Saint Simon Festival is the most cherished and attended event in Vallada Agordina, a small municipality in the Val del Biois, in the province of Belluno. It is traditionally held on the last weekend of October in the hamlet of Sacchet, under a large marquee set up near the village church.
The Monumental Church of San Simon
The festival celebrates the ancient Church of San Simon, dedicated to Saints Simon and Jude Thaddeus, a building of medieval origins (13th-18th century) famous for its frescoes and recognized as a national monument: it is the place of origin of the Christian community of the Val del Biois and one of the most precious artistic testimonies of the Agordino region.
Three Days of Agordino Tradition
The program offers three days of live music, entertainment, and above all, typical dishes of the local tradition: the famous lasagne da fornel, paste da pavare, fōi frìt, carfogn, baccalà all'agordina (codfish Agordino style), soups, stews, and mountain pasture cheeses. There is also a lottery. The liturgical feast of Saints Simon and Jude falls on October 28th. An authentic opportunity to experience the culture and gastronomy of the Belluno Dolomites.

In 2026, the Patron Saint Simon Festival will again liven up Vallada Agordina on the last weekend of October, in the hamlet of Sacchet. The most important festival in the village renews its tradition with three days of celebration under the marquee set up near the monumental church of San Simon.
The program includes live music, entertainment, and the gastronomic stand with specialties of Agordino cuisine, from lasagne da fornel to carfogn and baccalà all'agordina, accompanied by the usual lottery. Dates and program details are announced by the Municipality and the Pro Loco in the weeks prior.

How to get there
Vallada Agordina can be reached by car via the SS203 Agordina; from Agordo, continue towards Val del Biois (Cencenighe, Vallada). The hamlet of Sacchet is near the center.
